5 petaled flower
This piece was commissioned for a Bat Mitzvah to commemorate her completion the learning of all five books of the Torah along with family and friends. King Solomon compares the Torah to light and to water. A flower needs both water and light in order to grow. This five petaled flower - one petal for each book of the Torah - symbolizes her growth in Torah learning and mitzvot. The branch-like papercut design invokes a nature theme to represent this growth.
